Welcome to Reception!

We have an exciting year ahead of us, working with you to help your child to develop and grow. Our team this year is Mrs Gledhill and Mrs Richardson (Class teachers) and Mrs Weaver (Class LSA).  Miss Day is currently on maternity leave for the remainder of the academic year.

In Early Years our focus is to create a learning environment that engages and challenges your children to become independent learners. We aim to guide your child to develop high self-esteem, confidence and independence in all they do, generating firm foundations for life-long learning. We promote our Christian Values of Love, Trust and Wisdom through respectful play and discussion, ensuring that the children understand the importance of treating others with love and respect.

Over the year we will be learning All About Us, thinking about the things that make us different and special, looking at Traditional Tales and retelling our favourite stories. We will also be going on Bear Hunts and Teddy Bear picnics before celebrating New Life with our Easter Chicks. We will end the year by studying which creatures live Under the Sea and becoming Super Heroes of our own!

We look forward to welcoming your children in and building the foundations for the rest of their school life!
