We have a wonderful school council who give our students a voice and help shape how our school continues to change, develop and grow.
Each class votes for their two school councillors in September and the pupils selected remain the councillors for that academic year.
The school council meets most weeks and discusses a wide range of topics including projects we want to undertake each term, suggestions each class has and our vision for St Andrews.
We also take part in Multi-Schools Council meetings, with school councillors from other schools, where we get to discuss wide ranging topics such as:
- How can schools be greener?
- What impact did the pandemic have on clubs available for children?
We attended the amazing ‘United in Diversity’ conference at Braxted Park. We learnt so much about how resources can be adapted to include everyone and had a great time exploring the activities. We listened to very thought-provoking presentations by children from other schools, talking about their experiences of school as a child with special educational needs. The picture above shows us meeting one of the therapy dogs at the event.
